Fundamentals

Reformer Fundamentals focuses on control and alignment, teaching or reminding us how to hold optimal strength and technique whilst using our bodies on the reformers. This class is slow to medium paced, and is fabulous for beginners to learn or advanced to remind and rehearse control in a variety of movement patterns. Slower does not equal easier, in fact it's often in the last millimeter that we find our optimal range and where the greatest release and rebuilding of muscles is created. Explore your muscular skeletal system and focus on the 3 R's, Realise (where tensions and weakness are), Release (get yourself aligned), Rebuild (around a more balanced frame). 5-minute grace period for late arrivals. You may find aerial silks being used to stretch and correct the upper shoulder girdle, towers rehearsing our posture in practice, boxes, arch barrels and whatever is deemed suitable to come into this physical play. Classical

This class is classically inspired, and carefully created to focus on precision and control . Postural alignment in all movement patterns is a central focus, this attention to correct anatomical alignment makes the class flow at a slower more controlled pace. Think of equal attention to both release and rebuild, this is how the body of gymnasts and ballerina's are built. Optimal movement range, optimal muscular engagement = long, lean muscle and a posture to be proud of. The class is open level, encouraging everyone to find their optimal movement and progression for that day. In a classical class you are likely to see sets including equipment such as the Tower, Arch Barrel, Boxes etc. 5-minute grace period for late arrivals. Please wear grip socks.
